Room Avail. A fixture in the Paso Robles wine community for over 30 years Mr. Just off Highway 46 is a small hill and the redwood winery building built by local wine pioneer, Gary Eberle. Eberle has earned an enviable reputation for making suburb red wines—especially his prized Cabernet Sauvignon.
His leadership in the local industry helped create the formal Paso Robles Appellation. He sources grapes from the local area to compliment his own estate vineyard. As you take the drive up the small hill to the winery, you pass by one of the entrances to the wine caves. Eberle translates to small boar in German. Past the stained glass French door entry is the cozy tasting room with a fireplace and a set of windows that look down on the production facility.
Wine accessories and gourmet items are displayed throughout the comfy space. The long wine tasting bar opens out to the large covered BBQ deck with dramatic vineyard views. On weekends a reasonably priced gourmet picnic lunch is available reserve 48 hours ahead of time. Often the owner is present meeting guests or presiding over the BBQ.
